Himachal Pradesh Energy Development Agency

Himurja was constituted/set up during the year 1989 and is responsible for Promotion and Sustainable Development of Renewable Energy on one hand and Energy Security on the other along with Research and Development Programme within the State in the most efficient and economical manner. Our Agency is carrying out this task effectively through its various identified block/district level offices in Himachal Pradesh.

State Government’s Nodal Authority for Renewable Energy Programmes

Himurja encouraged the Private Sector Participation in the Hydro Power sector during 1995–96. We have made essential efforts to promote various renewable energy programmes with proven results. It has been possible due to the collaborative contribution of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India as well as the State Government. The core aim is to create a Sustainable Environment throughout Himachal Pradesh.
