Grid Connected Roof Top Solar Programme

The Sun’s Gift to the Mountains

The Sunlight bestows three times more energy on your rooftop than the energy required for running your house. National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) has estimated a potential of 34 GW taking into account 3% of total wasteland and the rooftop surface areas of the consumers in the State. In order to have a more proactive role under Grid-connected Solar Rooftop programme, the Net Metering Regulations have been notified. The Grid connected Rooftop Plants are on a higher demand for being a cleaner energy resource and also helps in utilizing the vacant rooftops available in the buildings.

About the System:

A Grid connected Rooftop Solar Plant consists of PV Modules, Inverter, mounting structure etc. The Grid connected Rooftop Plant is installed on the vacant roof of the building which generates energy during the daytime. The energy generated is first used by the beneficiary and the surplus is exported to the Grid. The surplus energy exported to the grid is adjusted in the energy bill by H.P.S.E.B.L.
