Small Hydropower with Maximum Energy

The water resources encompass a sturdy energy potential that provides cheap, renewable and reliable Power for households, agriculture, industry and commercial purposes. 469 sites for development of Small Hydro Projects up to 5 MW  capacity  were identified by AHEC Roorkee by Remote Sensing Technology for Himachal Pradesh. Subsequently, some of the sites were dropped for being in a wildlife sanctuary and environmental point of view. In the year 1998, the concept of self-identification by the Power Producer was also introduced to expedite the harnessing of existing Hydro Potential in the State.

Technically capable Organizations & Individual Investors are welcome to work hand-in-hand with the Government for Small Hydro Projects. The State’s development, especially in rural and tribal areas, demands improved and renewable energy initiatives. Himurja’s top priority is to maintain the ecological balance for the time ahead and thus, we keep an accurate focus on any project to ensure clean energy production as per MNRE’s guidelines.
